While Peterson eventually was not convicted of felony charges because he agreed to a plea deal that reduced his charges down, he was still suspended by the league after the legal matters were settled. Peterson appealed his suspension, but it was upheld by the league.

According to TMZ, Peterson was also in federal court last week to try and get the suspension overturned, which would allow Peterson to be reinstated immediately.

The hearing ended without a resolution, but it will continue on Monday. Peterson says that he has been working out twice a day since November, and he will be ready to play or practice as soon as he is allowed to resume participation in team activities.

Peterson did show off some speed during a recent footrace with comedian Kevin Hart. Peterson spotted Hart five yards off the bat, but it really did not make much difference.
