Rap Star 50 Cent To Star In Reality Show

Rap and film star 50 Cent has landed a reality TV deal on the Sundance Channel later this year.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, is set to star as a teacher in top chef’s Jamie Oliver’s “Dream School.” Sundance execs are promoting the show as a series delving into the lives of college dropouts as they strive to finally earn a diploma. The twist is, instead of a conventional classroom, professor-laden setting, they will be instructed by a faculty that includes professionals from such disciplines as music, politics, filmmaking, art and performing arts.

“We literally changed the lives of many of the kids for the better,” Oliver, who created the show in Britain, told MSN. “Some of them went back to school and are now excelling; some of them found out that, despite being told in school that they would never achieve anything, they were actually very gifted at art or acting and went on to achieve great things."

50 Cent is slated to appear as a teacher, and will also serve as an executive producer under his production company G-Unit Films and Television banner. He already owns acting credits for such films as the semi-autobiographical Get Rich or Die Trying, the Iraq War film Home of the Brave and Righteous Kill.
