Tonight at 8 p.m. ET, the National Hockey League presents the 2015 All-Star Game fantasy draft live from the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. The draft can be live streamed for free here.
48 of the NHL's brightest stars will be availible in the draft as 42 NHL veterans and six rookies will be on full display as the selections take place. Once the teams are decided, they will clash in the skills competition on Saturday and the All-Star Game on Sunday, both emanating from the Columbus Blue Jackets home rink of the Nationwide Arena.
The teams will be captained by Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno and Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews.
Working as alternates under Foligno will be Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty and Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane.
Toews will be aided by Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf and former Blue Jackets and current New York Rangers forward Rick Nash.
The draft is set to be 18 rounds and a puck will be flipped to determine who will get the first overall pick. The sides will then alternate picks going forward, with the captains and alternates discussing their draft strategy.
The teams will consist of three goaltenders, six defenseman and 12 forwards and there are certain rules to the draft.
Each team must pick all of their goalies by Round 10 while all defenseman must be off the board by Round 15. In addition, one trade per team is also allowed.
The rookies will be divided into teams of three by the NHL and after the 11th round of the regular draft, a puck will be flipped to determine who gets to pick the first set of rookies.
Top forwards in the NHL Draft include Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos and Alexander Ovechkin.
Defenseman that may go early include Shea Weber of the Nashville Predators and Duncan Keith of the Blackhawks.
Top netminders for the draft consist of Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens and Sergei Bobrovsky of the hometown Blue Jackets.
