Brittney Griner To Model Men's Clothing In Nike Ad Campaing

The first openly gay athlete to ever sign with the sports apparel giant Nike, WNBA star Brittney Griner, is set to star in a Nike ad campaign modeling men's clothing.

“It clicked for me,” Griner told ESPN. “I used to do the whole baggy, hard-core, I’m a boy look. Then, I went through a preppy phase. Now I have the athletic, bow-tie look. I found my style.

During her ESPN interview, Griner intimated that all came with bold decision to reveal more of who she is. "I am 100-percent happy," she told the magazine. "When I was at Baylor, I wasn't fully happy because I couldn't be all the way out. It feels so good saying it: I am a strong, black lesbian woman. Every single time I say it, I feel so much better.

The Mercury selected Griner with the top pick in this year’s draft and almost as quickly as team officials could shout out her name the 22-year-old trailblazer is being touted as someone who can revolutionize the game.

While at Baylor, she led the Bears to the national championship and set a NCAA record--- man or woman--- for most career blocks with 748. For good measure, she threw down an equally impressive record-setting 18 dunks.

"I already had that strength," she told USA Today of her penchant for making blocks. "I guess it's a blessing. I'm just happy that I'm on the court playing ball."
