There could be some more huge surprises in store when the 28th annual Royal Rumble goes live this Sunday night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Bill Goldberg 'Willing To Listen' On WWE Return

There have been several rumors surrounding just who may show up to the ring during the 30-man over-the-top-rope Rumble Match that will determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31.

The newest names rumored to appear include The Dudley Boys and some NXT stars while it is uncertain if Rey Mysterio will make a surprise comeback.

5 Possible Winners For Sunday's 30-Man Royal Rumble Match

The current field for the 30-man bout includes Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, Rusev, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Bad News Barrett, Goldust, Stardust, Kane, The Big Show, Justin Gabriel, R-Truth, Fandango, Diego, Fernando, Big E, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Tyson Kidd, Cesaro, The Miz and Damien Mizdow, leaving eight spots vacant.

There have been rumors that Superstars Randy Orton and Sheamus could return in the bout to bring it down to six empty spots, which could be filled with NXT stars, The Dudley Boys and Mysterio if current reports turn out to be true.

There are reports that Bully Ray (known as Bubba Ray in the WWE) and Devon, collectively known to WWE fans as The Dudley Boys, may have been in talks with the WWE in some form over the last couple of weeks.

Bully Ray and Devon recently departed TNA, where they were referred to as Team 3D. The two former ECW stars have been rumored to appear in Sunday's 30-man match, which emanates from the former home city of ECW in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center.

There has been speculation that one of the two may end up becoming an NXT coach, but nothing is etched in stone.

The WWE has talked for a few months about bringing in some ECW Originals for the 30-man bout with it being in Philadelphia, and the Dudley Boys certainly fit the bill.

Regarding Mysterio, who recently had a contract dispute with the WWE, the chances of him being in the Rumble Match are said to be very low, but anything is possible come Sunday.

Mysterio's status remains up in the air amid rumors he was looking to leave the WWE. Mysterio was No. 30 in last year's Rumble Match and partook in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXX.

The former World Heavyweight Champion then lost to Bad News Barrett on the edition of Monday Night RAW after WrestleMania, but he hasn't been back since as he left to heal a wrist injury.

There were reports that Mysterio and McMahon hashed out their dispute, but it remains to be seen when he'll return.

Regarding the NXT Superstars, there was talk at Monday Night RAW this week in Dallas that one or two NXT wrestlers will get a spot in the Rumble Match. It is unknown if the WWE will end up fully going with that plan or which two athletes it would be.

There are sure to be plenty of surprises in store when the WWE presents the 28th annual Royal Rumble live from the Wells Fargo Center this Sunday in Philadelphia.
