With CM Punk revealing that he will be joining UFC, there are some other Superstars who could follow suit as there are rumors that others may opt to return to the Octagon.
10 Most Shocking Moments In WWE Royal Rumble History
Punk, who walked out on the WWE last January, announced at UFC 181 last month that he has signed a deal with the company.
The "Best in the World" is expected to make his debut in the Octagon sometime in late 2015 with the most recent reports indicating that it will occur in about six or seven months.
Jim Ross Hopes WWE Doesn't 'Overexpose' Sting
In anticipation of Punk's UFC debut, we take a look at three Superstars who could potentially end up in the MMA realm.
1) The Undertaker: At this point in his career, it is a long-shot that 'Taker ever fulfills his MMA dream, but he has talked about wanting to jump over to the Octagon and even added some UFC holds to his in-ring repertoire in the WWE.
As stated above, 'Taker is not likely to end up in the MMA world anytime soon, but he has expressed interest in the past and is a big fan of the product.
At age 49 and after years of wear-and-tear on his body from his time in the ring, 'Taker may never get to fulfill his hopes of competing in the Octagon, but it would be interesting to see what he would do.
Considering Brock Lesnar almost broke him at WrestleMania XXX in a scripted match and that he was legitimately injured when he lost The Streak, 'Taker is the biggest long-shot on this list.
2) Brock Lesnar: "The Beast" has been linked to a return to the Octagon once his WWE contract is up and UFC president Dana White said he'd welcome the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion back with open arms.
Lesnar was very successful in the UFC in the past, winning the UFC Heavyweight Championship, but he retired in 2011 after a bout with diverticulitis.
There are rumors that when Lesnar's deal is up on the day after WrestleMania 31 he will once again return to the cage.
Lesnar has dominated the WWE over the past year, ending The Streak of The Undertaker at WrestleMania and dominating John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. Lesnar has held the gold since August and is expected to drop it at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 in California.
Lesnar is booked to appear on the March 30 RAW and then his part-time contract expires.
There are reports out there that Lesnar is training hard for a UFC comeback one the current pact with the WWE is up.
There are expectations that UFC, WWE and Bellator MMA may have a three-way bidding war for "The Beast."
3) Alberto Del Rio: The Former WWE Superstar, now going under the name El Patron, said in an interview in Puerto Rico that he's received offers from Bellator MMA and UFC to return to the Octagon, and Bellator at least confirmed reaching out to him.
Del Rio has a fighting background and has also been offered a deal to kick box, but he may decide to remain in wrestling in 2015.
Del Rio said he would only fight if he was given an offer that will pay him more money than pro wrestling does. Del Rio is currently working with AAA in Mexico and Ring of Honor while TNA is a major player for his services.
The former WWE Champion was released from the company after he slapped a social media worker for an alleged racist comment he made about him, but he worked out a deal with the WWE to have his no-compete clause revoked.
While it's uncertain what he will do, Del Rio definitely has options to return to MMA if he wants to.
