Dak Prescott NFL Rumors: Mississippi State Star Returning To Bulldogs For Senior Season [VIDEO]

Mississippi State's 2015 college football championship aspirations just got a big time boost on Wednesday, as star quarterback Dak Prescott announced he would forgo plans to enter the NFL Draft, and instead return to Starksville for his senior year.

The Best And Worst of the College Gridiron Season

Prescott was a Heisman Trophy candidate for much of the year. He led Dan Mullen's Bulldogs to their best season in program history; the team spent numerous weeks as the number one team in the country, though two late season losses kept them out of the college football playoff final four. They settled for an Orange Bowl bid instead.

Prescott threw for 3,449 yards and tossed 27 touchdowns to go with 11 interceptions. Prescott's decision came the same day that Oregon Ducks QB Marcus Mariota declared he was headed for the NFL Draft.

Marcus Mariota Is Going Pro

"When I decided to come to Mississippi State, it wasn't about competing for a championship for one year or making a run for one year," Prescott said, via The Clarion Ledger. "It was about competing for championships and making this a program that's not a one-hit-wonder."

Mississippi State released a hype video entitled "Return of the Dak" when Prescott announced his return.
