Two clubs chasing the Apertura Liga MX title will do battle today in a league match between Chiapas and Chivas Guadalajara. The first-division clash scheduled for 10 p.m. ET will be held at the Estadio Víctor Manuel Reyna in Tuxtla Gutierrez. It can be live streamed here free and via the Univision Deportes mobile app. Additional TV coverage can be found on Univision.
What They're Saying
Chiapas manager Sergio Bueno (via Vavel): "We are basically all in order. We have to look back at the tactics, but overall, we're fine. We're motivated, excited to start the championship. We want to have a great tournament."
Chivas Guadalajara manager Jose Manuel de la Torre (via Star Media): "Doubts, it's not that you have them. Everyone has doubts, but it's not about having doubts. Instead, it's about having possibilities. Only 11 play, but the players with options can play. I don't only have 11 players. I have 33 or 35 who can play at the right moment."
Tactical Preview
Player to Watch: One of the players at de la Torre's disposal is Erick "Cubo" Torres. The 21-year-old opted to remain at Chivas for the 2015 Clausura before returning to MLS. In 29 appearances with Chivas USA, Torres finished with a club-best 15 goals. Guadalajara will need that and more if it hopes to stave off relegation this season.
Chivas Guadalajara's Projected Lineup (4-4-2): Toño; Ponce, Pereira, Salcido, Vidrio; Fabian, Toledo, Castro, Brizuela; Bravo De Nigris
