Michigan-Ohio State Rivalry: Wolverines' Jim Harbaugh Rooting for Buckeyes For 'Big Ten Pride' [VIDEO]

Michigan-Ohio State is one of the preeminent college football rivalries of all time. There hasn't been any love lost between these two squads in a century.

Jim Harbaugh to Michigan Confirmed

Jim Harbaugh should know this most of all. He played quarterback for the Wolverines under legendary coach Bo Schembechler between 1983 and 1986, and he was just brought back to Ann Arbor to take over the program's head coaching duties. If anyone should disdain the Buckeyes, it's Harbaugh. The fact that Ohio State is playing for a national championship against Oregon on Monday should boil Harbaugh's blood.

Not so, apparently.

"I am going to root for Ohio State," were Harbaugh's exact comments, per The Detroit News. "I am a Midwesterner. I was raised in Ohio and went to Michigan and was raised in Michigan as well. There has been a lot of talk about our conference. I think it is fabulous that a team from our conference is in the game."

Whether Harbaugh is speaking in earnest, or whether he may be attempting the well-known 'reverse jinx' is anybody's guess.

In addition to discussing Ohio State's title aspirations, Harbaugh also gave listeners a preview of UM's upcoming 2015 season.

"As far as expectations we've got to work at it," he said, when asked what Wolverines should expect from his first year on the sidelines. "I am committed to doing the best job we possibly can. Expectations will be high. This is the University of Michigan. Expectations were high for our team meeting. Expectations are high today for our team running and conditioning and they are high for the weight room tomorrow.

"It is coming together great. I am really, really excited about our coaching staff. I think you will be impressed."
