According to ESPN, Walker mentioned that he would be excited to see Christie at Lambeau this week if the New Jersey governor makes the trip to the game. He was later asked if he would ever cheer for a team other than his home-state Packers, to which Walker replied, "Never. Never."

The two governors are potential rivals ahead of the upcoming 2016 presidential elections, as both are considered candidates to receive the Republican Party's nomination. Both are also outspoken about their fandom of their respective NFL teams.

Aaron Rodgers' Jokes On Matt Flynn Fall Flat

Walker sent out tweets touting Aaron Rodgers as the NFL's MVP earlier this year, and he took to Twitter again after images and videos of Christie hugging Cowboys owner Jerry Jones last week made their rounds on the internet.

Walker and Christie have watched NFL games together before, although previously it was when Walker made the trek to watch Green Bay face the New York Jets. "Ironically, he was quietly cheering the Packers on at that game," Walker said.

Christie said during a radio interview on Monday that he hopes to be able to attend the game and that he hopes to see Walker while he is there.

Walker did note that if Christie makes the trip to the game, he may be better served by sticking close to Jerry Jones and other Cowboys fans. "While we're awful polite," said Walker, "a playoff game is probably not the place for a bunch of Packers fans to be around a Cowboys fan."
