WrestleMania 31 Rumors: Daniel Bryan 'Really Wants' Match With Brock Lesnar

There have been rumors that the WWE may change its reported plans for a Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar match at WrestleMania 31 now that Daniel Bryan is returning and though it's uncertain what will happen, Bryan recently said he wants a match with "The Beast."

Bryan won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX, but had to forfeit the title without losing it due to a neck injury. Bryan had the operation in mid-May and subsequently lost feeling in his right arm after the procedure.

Bryan announced on RAW a couple of weeks ago that he will be returning at the Royal Rumble, leading to some belief that he could win the 30-man match and face Lesnar -- who he was scheduled to battle at SummerSlam in August before his injury.

The MTV UK website recently published an interview it conducted with Bryan during SummerSlam weekend when he was sidelined and John Cena dropped the belt to Lesnar.

"One of the things that kills me about this is if I were champion right now I'd be wrestling Brock Lesnar and that's the match I've always really wanted," Bryan said. "I feel like we could do something completely different that people [wouldn't] have seen before in the United States. That's the match I really, really want."

Bryan also said he wants to do programs with Cesaro, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose and there were rumors earlier this week that Bryan vs. Rollins could happen at WrestleMania 31 in the event that the WWE doesn't change its plans.

The reported plans for quite some time have been to have Reigns battle Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It has been rumored that Reigns will win the title and become the No. 1 guy in the company as this will begin his monster push.

Lesnar's plans beyond WrestleMania are up in the air as there are rumors he will return to the Octagon, making a possibly slim window for a Bryan-Lesnar match.

Bryan and Reigns will both be in the 30-man Royal Rumble Match on Jan. 25 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and there is said to be a locker room divide over who should win the contest.

It is very likely that Reigns will end up winning the match and the WWE will stick with its plans, though there are some who feel he is not ready for the push. Others feel Bryan is too much of a risk to carry the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and may not be a top guy.

The WWE changed its plans last year after Batista wasn't over with the crowd and amid a groundswell of support from the WWE Universe for Bryan, which ended with the WWE putting the belt on him at WrestleMania XXX.

It remains to be seen what the plans will be for Bryan, but "The Beard" hopes to one day face "The Beast" in the squared circle.
