Once fierce rivals, Michael Jordan and Patrick Ewing are close to teaming up in Charlotte, where Ewing is thought to be a top finalist for one of new coach Steve Clifford’s top assistant posts.
Owner Jordan and the Bobcats announced this week they has tabbed Clifford as the team’s new coach, signing him to a two-year deal with a team option for a third season that Yahoo! Sports reports could be worth upwards of $6 million.
Ewing and Clifford once worked together as assistants in Orlando and have long remained close. Ditto for the former the Knicks star and Jordan, who off the court were among the league’s best friends.
