Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Kobe Bryant Make Our 5 Athletes And The New Year's Resolutions They Should Make

Tags:NFL, NBA, mlb

It is the time of year when everyone makes resolutions about what they would like to improve about themselves over the next year. Of course, there are plenty of professional athletes that need to improve upon some things also. Here are five athletes and the resolutions that they should make:

Jay Cutler: "Protect the football." Cutler morphed into a turnover machine this year, particularly during the second half of the season. He will certainly still be on the Bears next year by virtue of his ginormous contract, but he still needs to pick up his level of play if he wants to keep his job.

Brandon Marshall Calls Radio Host A Clown

Johnny Manziel: "Treat the NFL like job." Manziel too often treated his rookie season like an extension of his college years, and it showed when he was on the field. He looked overwhelmed by the speed of the NFL and the complexity of the defenses he faced. If he wants to become a legitimate starter, he needs to stop partying all of the time and put in the work of studying game tape and working on his mechanics.

Kobe Bryant: "Pass the ball occasionally." Bryant  is threatening to further the NBA record for usage rate (which he already holds). A player's usage is determined by how many possessions he is on the court for that end with him shooting, getting fouled, or turning the ball over. Bryant needs to get his teammates more involved if he wants them to be able to contribute to a playoff team next year.

Kobe Planning To Retire

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather: "Fight already, or retire." The talk over this superfight has dragged on for years now, to the point that both fighters are past their prime and fans might not even be that interested. Regardless, either make the fight happen, or hang up the gloves so we can stop talking about it.

Bryce Harper: "Play more carefully." Harper is one of the best young players in baseball, but he has missed games in the past couple of seasons after suffering injuries that stem from his reckless style of play. It is endearing to fans to go all out on every play, but he needs to understand that he cannot help his team when he is in street clothes.
