Johnny Manziel Rumors: Cleveland Browns GM 'Would Not' Hesitate To Draft Another QB in First Round [VIDEO]

Johnny Manziel has told everybody who will listen that he intends to take the game of football "more seriously" moving forward. On Tuesday Cleveland Browns general manager Ray Farmer all but said "challenge accepted."

Manziel Reflects on His First Season in the Pros

While giving a perfunctory end-of-season press conference to reporters this afternoon, Farmer urged the rookie to work to live up to his potential, and also hinted that there may be a quarterback competition down the road.

“I would tell you that the words don’t mean anything. I’m not a big word guy. It’s all about action,” Farmer said, via NFL.com. “That’s really where we’re at, and that’s for everybody. I think that’s what all of our players and coaches and staff and everybody associated with this organization want to see. That’s what our fans want to see. It’s about action.”

Members of the media also asked Farmer if he would hesitate before hypothetically drafting another quarterback in the coming draft. His response, simply: “I would not.”

Skip Bayless Calls Manziel an 'Alcoholic' and a 'Liar'

A combination of poor play on the field and poor partying decisions off it has conspired to dint the star wattage that Johnny Manziel mania was supposed to create in Cleveland. However, Farmer said he was not ready to give up on Johnny Football just yet.

“I do think he can develop into a solid starter in this league, yes,” he said. “I think that the sample size available is like you said, small. I’d say to that end, we all gotta be patient. I think there’s an opportunity for the guy to make changes. It’s up to him if he’s going to make those changes, but I think the talent is in his body to accomplish that.”
