Manziel did not have a great run as a starter during his rookie year, but he still has the support of his teammates in the locker room. Many of the players apparently believe that he can still develop into a reliable starting quarterback, which may be the final piece of the puzzle to make Cleveland a playoff team.

Some have speculated that the Browns are already over the irresponsible antics of Manziel, who missed a team meeting last weekend after supposedly bar hopping until last call on Friday night. However, he does have talent, and if he can be coached up, he could turn out to be the franchise quarterback that Cleveland has lacked since they returned to the NFL.
According to TMZ, many of the Browns players believe that Manziel's off-the-field issues have been blown out of proportion by the media, as exemplefied recently when ESPN's Skip Bayless claimed that Manziel was an alcoholic. The players are just chalking those mistakes up to immaturity.

The player went on to say that "Johnny hasn't been a bad teammate. He has to live his life. As long as next year we compete for the playoffs, guys in this locker room will support him in his maturation process. We all know his talent and we will help him on and off the field to get this thing going in the right direction."
