Daniel Bryan Return To WWE: 3 Potential Feuds For Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion [VIDEO]

It's been an up-and-down year for WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan in 2014, but 2015 will start with a bang for the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Potential Sting vs. Seth Rollins Match Discussed Internally In WWE

Bryan announced on Monday Night RAW this week that he will return to the ring at the 2015 Royal Rumble on Jan. 25 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia as he will participate in the 30-man over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble Match.

The winner of that bout will go on to face the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in California

Possible Heat On Brock Lesnar Surrounding Him Leaving WWE?

Bryan, of course, is no stranger to success at the "Show of Shows" after beating Triple H and going on to defeat Randy Orton and Batista in a Triple Threat Match for the gold at last April's WrestleMania XXX.

Bryan was on top of the world after winning the gold last spring and marrying WWE DivaBrie Bella, but following his honeymoon he received the tragic news about his father passing away and he then was struck down with a debilitating neck injury that has kept him out of action since mid-May and cut his reign short.

Now that Bryan is back, here is a look at three potential feuds the WWE could put him in.

1) Luke Harper: The WWE's heel crop has gotten pretty thin now that Randy Orton turned face to join the likes of John Cena, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus as top babyfaces in the company. While Bryan has already had his battles with Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family, he's never dealt with Harper as a singles star. The WWE jumped the gun by putting the Intercontinental Championship on Harper last month in what proved to be a short reign. If the WWE wants to further establish him as a top heel, it could easily put him into a feud with someone like Bryan to gain credibility and riff off of Bryan's past history with The Wyatt Family.

2) Rusev: The mighty Russian Rusev has been pushed like a monster these past weeks, and if the rumors of a WrestleMania 31 bout with John Cena prove to be true, he'll need to have another strong program to build into it. While a Rusev vs. Ryback feud is the current direction, the WWE could book Bryan as the underdog American taking on the mighty unstoppable Russian to make Rusev look strong, but also have Bryan hold his own against a much larger opponent as he works his way back up the ranks of the WWE ladder. The only caution here is that the WWE is looking to keep Rusev undefeated, which would be at the expense of Bryan unless this feud was held off until post-WrestleMania.

3) Seth Rollins: Rollins is clearly the No. 1 heel in the company right now and his connections to Triple H make him a natural foil to Bryan. Triple H and Bryan have been at odds ever since the buildup to WrestleMania XXX and "The Game" could send his go-to guy in "Mr. Money in the Bank" after Bryan in what would make an instant classic of a feud. Rollins has his hands full in dealing with John Cena, Dolph Ziggler and Roman Reigns lately, but Bryan could easily join that crusade and the two could put on some tremendous matches with their great in-ring abilities. This is a feud that the WWE Universe could really get behind and probably the one clash that has the greatest potential now that Bryan is back in the WWE.

While Bryan's 2014 could be defined by highs and lows, 2015 should get off to a roaring start for him when the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion enters the Royal Rumble Match on Jan. 25 in Philadelphia.
