Tonight at 5:00 p.m. ET LeBron James makes his first trip to South Beach since returning home to Cleveland in the offseason when the Cleveland Cavaliers (17-10) visit the Miami Heat (13-16) on Christmas Day. LeBron James helped bring two titles to the Heat after originally spurning Cleveland with "The Decision," but that may be ancient history to Heat fans now watching a James-less squad struggle. That doesn't dampen James' excitement about returning to the place where he won his only championships.
"To say I haven't thought about going back, I would be lying," James said. "It's going to be great to be back in that building around those unbelievable fans and the memories will definitely come back, being a part of the organization for four years."
It remains to be seen whether Miami fans are bitter about LeBron leaving, but his former teammate and Dwyane Wade harbors no ill will. "He made the right decision. He went home," Wade said Wednesday. "You can't say nothing about that decision when someone decides to go home."
Without LeBron Wade has re-assumed the scoring burden for the Heat, averaging 22.8 points, his highest mark since the 2011-12 campaign. He has missed eight games already this year though, a major concern for Miami entering the year. Chris Bosh has missed the Heat's last six games, and Luol Deng has been disappointing so far.
