Oakland Raiders News: Melenik Watson 'Goes Above and Beyond' For Diehard Fan With 'Half A Heart' [VIDEO]

Melenik Watson provided a great example that sports -- and life -- is about more than just the box score.

NFL Insider Jay Glazer reported on Fox NFL Sunday's pregame show that the Oakland Raiders tackle had donated his entire game check for Week 16 to the family of 4-year-old Ava Urrea. Urrea is a young girl and diehard fan of the team who is battling a condition that has basically left her with 'half a heart,' and she's already gone through over a dozen surgeries.

Watson gave that check -- it was over $36,000 -- to Ava's father, saying he wanted the Urrea family to have the best holiday celebrations possible. The Raiders as a team also hosted Ava during their weekly practice, treating her to a host of honors. They let her roam the field with the players, made her honorary captain for the day, and gifted her a ton of awesome autographed merchandise.

They also gave her a win on Sunday, upsetting the heavily favored Buffalo Bills 26-24.

Glazer was visibly emotional when describing Watson's act of holiday generosity. Watson "went so far above and beyond [what was necessary]," he told studio host Curt Menefee.
