Eugenie Bouchard Drug-Testing: Canadian Star Says She Has Endured Six Tests During Offseason [VIDEO]

Perhaps it's the rise from No. 31 to the top 10. Or maybe, she's just a victim of an unfathomable set of coincidences.

Bouchard, the 20-year-old rising Canadian tennis star, has reported on her Twitter account that she has been drug-tested six times since the end of the 2014 season, which took place during toward the end of October, according to tennisworldusa.org.

"6th anti doping visit this off season... Think we're good guys #tiredgenie," she said on her account.

Eugenie Bouchard signs with talent agency that works with No. 1 Serena Williams and No. 2 Maria Sharapova

Tennisworldusa.org explained that that sport has sought to avoid the pitfalls other sports have suffered because of drugs and drug-testing.

"Over the years not one of the top players has been caught in a major doping scandal as it happened for example in cycling with Lance Armstrong. No 7-time Grand Slam champion has ever seen all of his trophies suddenly taken away due to clear cheating demonstrated all around.

"Yet, with the introduction of the biological passport, the anti-doping agencies are moving one step closer to grant a clean sport. Prevention is never too much and to the fans, lovers and experts a clean sport without doping has to be mandatory taken-for-granted."

Eugenie Bouchard breaks up with coach of eight years

The article, however, overlooked one very important positive test -- Andre Agassi admitted in his autobiography that he tested positive for crystal meth in 1997, The Guardian reported. He lied about the reason he failed the test -- blaming a contaminated drink for the presence of the substance in his system.

As for Bouchard, the multiple tests have capped a busy 2014 for her. She advanced to the semfinals in the Australian and French Opens, and to the finals at Wimbledon.

After a lackluster performance at the WTA World Tour Finals in Singapore, she broke up with coach Nick Saviano, who had been coaching her since she was 12.

And last week, Bouchard signed with WME-IMG, the same talent agency that works with Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.

As she gets ready for next month's Australian Open, Bouchard at least knows she can prepare with a claen conscious.
