The anticipation for UFC 183 is building, and now mixed martial arts fans have deftly-made promo to hold them over until the January 31st bout.
The pay-per-view event will pit Anderson "Spider" Silva against the formidable challenger Nick Diaz. Silva is an uncontested legend of the sport, but this is his first foray in the Octagon after shattering his leg in a 2013 fight against Chris Weidman.
Silva endured an extensive rehabilitation process, and his leg is said to be in full health. The former champ even posted a video to Instagram recently highlighting his leg's renewed strength.
'Spider' Shows Off His Surgically Healed Leg In New Instagram Post
On Tuesday UFC released a promo for the impending fighter that cribbed off of Silva's well-known "Spider" nickname. The commercial spot features a young girl hauntingly chanting the lyrics to "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" while footage of Silva is juxtaposed with the declaration "A Legend Will Rise...He's Back."
Diaz Won't Attack Silva's Vulnerable Leg
Silva's opponent Nick Diaz claims that he has no interest in attacking the Brazilian's surgically repaired leg.
"When someone tells you a fighter's injured and they tell you to go after an injury, it really throws you off," Diaz said this month. "It would be sad to lose a fight on account of, you're trying to concentrate on capitalizing on someone's weakness
