Chad Johnson Taken Into Custody For Probation Violations
Miami police have taken former NFL star Chad Johnson into custody on a probation violation warrant, according to TMZ.
Johnson, 35, who until recently was thought to be in California, was nabbed after returning to Miami, TMZ added. A Broward County judge had issued the arrest warrant late last week after probation officials complained he had failed to report to officers on at least two occasions and failed to show proof of enrollment in a mandated domestic violence education class.
Upon appearing in court earlier today, a judge immediately ruled he was in violation and ordered his arrest. Johnson is expected to be granted bail before the close of the day. Johnson was placed on probation in 2012 after being convicted of attacking ex-wide Evelyn Lozado during a heated argument between the two TMZ reported was sparked by allegations he was having an affair
Johnson and Lozado wed in lavish style in July 2012, only to divorce a short time later amid rumors he was having an affair and violently attacked her during a heated exchange related to his indiscretions.
Lozado recently charged Johnson was stalking her online and had her attorney’s fire off a cease and desist letter related to some of Twitter posts about her.
