There has been a lot of speculation over who CM Punk will fight when he makes his UFC debut after his announcement Saturday that he has joined the promotion and UFC welterweight Cathal Pendred claimed that he will be the one facing the "Best in the World" in his debut.

Pendred took to his official Twitter account and posted a picture of CM Punk while saying he will be the one to take him on.
"This punk is going to be 'one & done' in the UFC," Pendred tweeted. "It looks like I will be that one. #JustWonTheLottery."

Pendred then hinted that a fight with Punk could very well be a part of a UFC event in Croke Park sometime in 2015.
"Croke Park, 2015 Main Event: [Jose] Aldo vs [Conor] McGregor Co-Main: Pendred vs CM Punk," Pendred tweeted. "UFC attendance record smashed. UFC PPV sales record obliterated."
Punk revealed Saturday night at UFC 181 in Las Vegas that he has joined the promotion and then president Dana White revealed that his first fight will likely take place in six or seven months.
The "Best in the World" has made a lot of waves lately by joining the promotion after walking out on the WWE in January.
Punk left the WWE on the night after the Royal Rumble debut in the midst of being frustrated with the way he was being used creatively and also due to being upset over how the WWE was handling his injuries -- most notably a concussion he had on the day of his departure.
The former WWE Champion appeared on his good friend Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast last month and revealed everything that led to his WWE departure, bashing Vince McMahon, Triple H, Ryback and others along the way.
Punk said on the show that on the day he married his now-wife and WWE Diva AJ Lee, he received his termination papers from the WWE in the mail.
McMahon said on a WWE Network podcast with WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin that he'd hoped the two sides would work together again while Punk said he doesn't ever want to return to the WWE or wrestling in general.
Punk shocked the world by announcing his deal with UFC over the weekend and the WWE has since wished him luck publicly as the relationship between the two sides has crumbled.
It remains to be seen if Pendred's comments are accurate, but it appears a Pendred-Punk matchup could mark the UFC debut of the "Best in the World."
