The St. Louis-Washington game offered so little that tickets were going for pocket change last week. The game itself ended up being a bit of a dud for everyone except St. Louis fans also, as the Rams dominated from start to finish while earning a 24-0 victory.
AP To Be Reinstated This Week?
The pregame coin toss, however, offered a bit of a laugh for astute fans. Rams head coach Jeff Fisher sent out his captains to handle the coin toss, and his choices were quite interesting.
Nearly everyone remembers all of the buzz surrouding the trade when it happened, and many believed that Robert Griffin III had a chance to be even better than Andrew Luck, who was regarded as the best quarterback prospect since John Elway.
During Griffin's rookie year, the deal looked sensational for Washington, as Griffin posted one of the best rookie seasons by a quarterback ever in the NFL. He went on to win Rookie of the Year while the Rams struggled with a combination of uneven play and injuries at the quarterback position.
Since then, Griffin has struggled with injuries and he has not progressed as a pocket passer in the way that many within the organization hoped that he would. The fan base clamored for Griffin to be benched for Kirk Cousins earlier in the season, and he was recently benched in favor of Colt McCoy.
Speculation has become rampant that Washington will look to move on from Griffin sooner rather than later, and although it may still be too early to tell for sure, it certainly seems like St. Louis unquestionably got the better end of the RGIII trade, which was unthinkable following the 2012 season.
