An arrest warrant has been issued for former NFL star Chad Johnson after he failed to report to his probation officer stemming from his domestic abuse conviction for attacking his ex-wife Evelyn Lozada.
According to TMZ, a warrant has been issued for Johnson in Broward County, Fla. On the grounds Johnson has missed several previously mandating meetings. The Broward County District Attorney’s Office adds it was issued on May 7.
Once Johnson is taken into custody, a hearing will be set to determine the status of the case and whether he is actually found to be in violation. If he is, he could face jail time.
Based on his Twitter page postings, Johnson is currently believed to be in Pasadena, Ca. TMZ added it has attempted to contact his attorneys, but has been unable to speak with any of them.
Johnson and Lozado wed in lavish style in July 2012, only to divorce a short time later amid rumors he was having an affair and violently attacked her during a heated exchange related to his indiscretions.
Lozado recently charged Johnson was stalking her online and had her attorney’s fire off a cease and desist letter related to some of Twitter posts about her.
