It's an unfortunate truth that Thursday night NFL games don't always offer the most competitive games of the week, but fans have a lucky exception for Week 14. Tonight's showdown features the Dallas Cowboys, who are desperately trying to keep pace in the race for either the NFC East title or an NFC Wild Card bid, and the hometown Chicago Bears, who no doubt would relish playing the role of spoiler.
Ten of the Hottest WAGs of the NFL
Although this is not precisely a 'must-win' game for Dallas in terms of outright elimination with a loss, the NFC playoff field is too crowded for them to lose this game and feel any good about their chances moving forward.
Tonight's game offers, a host of interesting match-ups, specifically between the Cowboys offense and the Bears defense.
As they have all season long, the Cowboys are going to lean on star running back Demarco Murray early and often. Murray is leading the NFL with a staggering 1400+ yards on the ground thus far this season, but the Bears are a top ten defense in run prevention. It'll be interesting to see which wins out.
If by some reason Chicago prevents Murray from getting into a consistent rhythm, head coach Jason Garrett needs to trust Tony Romo to get Dallas their points.
Outdoor conditions may be unfavorable, but as good as the Bears are at preventing the run, that's how bad they are at preventing the passing game (they're bottom three in that regard). Jay Cutler and Matt Forte will make some plays to keep this close, but expect Romo to make or two key passes in the fourth to secure this win for Dallas.
Prediction: Cowboys 24, Bears 20
