So much for those Ray Lewis replacement plans. Less than a month after signing a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens, 23-year-old middle linebacker Rolando McClain announced his retirement today following his third arrest in less than 11 months.
The former Oakland Raiders first-round draft pick signed with Ravens on April 12, mere months after the Hall of Fame bound Lewis led the Ravens to a Super Bowl and announced his retirement.
McClain was last arrested on April 22 in his hometown of Decatur, Ala. on disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges. He was previously arrested last January on charges of having his car windows tinted too darkly and trying to lie about his identity. In 2011 he was involved in a shooting sentenced to jail on an assault charge stemming from the incident, but prosecutors later dismissed the case.
