After a long and difficult ride, England's Chelsea and Portugal's Benfica have made it to the Europa League Final that will be played in Amsterdam at 2:45pm ET. You can watch the action live from Amsterdam Arena here.
Chelsea are the current Champions League title holder after a very succesful campaign last year that saw them eliminate Barcelona and Bayern Munich, among many other top teams.
This year, however, saw them become the first titleholders ever to be knocked out in group-stage, and coach Roberto Di Matteo was fired as a result.
Rafa Benitez took over as coach with much controversy and began his Europa league journey with the Blues, eliminating Sparta Prague, Steaua Bucharest, Rubin Kazan and Basel.
Benfica started in Champions League, in a group containing Barcelona, Celtic and Spartak Moscow and were seen as the favorites to advance, but were suprised by Celtic and downgraded into Europa.
The Portuguese side eliminated Bayern Leverkusen, Bordeaux, Newcastle and Fenerbahce.
Never before has a team followed up a Champions League trophy with a Europa League Trophy, but Chelsea could be the first tomorrow against a team who has not made it to European finals in almost three decades.
Benfica are coming from a hard loss to Portuguese rivals FC Porto, which cost them the League and will come out with everything to make up for it against Chelsea.
