TNA Wrestling News and Rumors: Update On Impact Wrestling's Move to Destination America [VIDEO]

TNA Impact Wrestling will debut on its new network home of Destination America in January 2015 and the company has big plans for when the flagship program goes live.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that the company is planning on debuting the show on the network with a new look and there are current plans for former WWE announcer Josh Mathews to replace Mike Tenay as the lead announcer.

Mathews will be working alongside Tazz while Tenay will also still have an on-air role.

While Destination America hasn't confirmed the 9 p.m. Wednesday timeslot for Impact Wrestling yet, TNA has announced tapings for the Manhattan Center in New York City from Jan. 7-9 and there has been talk of doing the first episode on Destination America live or on a two-hour tape delay.

According to the report, the most-watched show on Destination America was an episode of Buying Alaska, which drew 535,000 viewers two weeks ago.

The network usually averages 100,000 viewers in prime time and their bigger shows generate 200,000 viewers, but an average of a record 214,000 viewers a few weeks ago was the company's best numbers ever.

TNA is on a new home now because Spike TV opted to not renew the pact between the both sides as it looks to distance itself from professional wrestling.

Spike was originally slated to drop TNA from its lineup in October, but opted to be a good partner and keep the company's flagship show on its network until 2014 as president Dixie Carter searched for a new channel to promote the brand.

Destination America reaches just under 60 million American households while Spike TV was available to almost 99 million American subscribers and is also accessible in Canada.

TNA will debut on Destination America in January and a lot of changes could be in store for the company on its new network home.
