Florida Gators Football News: 'I’m a Man I’m 40' Coach Mike Gundy 'Pursuing' the Gators Vacancy? [VIDEO]

The Mike Gundy-to-Florida rumors continue to percolate around the college football world.

News that the Oklahoma State head coach (and famous star of the “I’m a Man, I’m 40!” viral video) might be expressing potential interest in the Gators gig originally surfaced in national news outlets late last week, including at this site. A Las Vegas bookmaking site by the name of Bovoda went so far as to declare him the odds-on favorite for the job.

Could Mike Gundy Be Headed To The Gators?

At first Gundy told reporters that he didn’t “have any interest in talking about other jobs,” but it seems like he’s changed his tune in subsequent days.

According to the latest report from 24/7 Sports, Gundy isn’t just interested in the Florida job—he’s actively pursuing it. The report explains that Gundy is sending word of his interest in the job via “back channels.”

Florida Head Coaching Decision Expected By Christmas?

Gundy for his part denies that these rumors create any distraction for Oklahoma State.

“I really don’t think the players pay any attention at all to that,” Gundy told NewsOK.com. “There’s so much hype out there and there’s so many people that have a way to put something online and not put their name on it. So the validity and how solid it could be is just so limited… Whatever is being said out there, I’ve never concerned myself with those conversations that can take place.”
