Mike Tyson Cartoon: 'Iron Mike' to Star in Adult Swim Animated Series Solving Crimes Along With Talking Pigeon
Boxing legend Mike Tyson is slated to star in a new animated series where the former heavyweight champ will solve crimes alongside a talking pigeon.
Adult Swim announced on Friday it will soon commence production of the "Mike Tyson Mysteries," in which he not only solves crimes but sports a magical face tattoo.According to the Hollywood Reporter, in its press release Adult Swim touted the project as:
"As a new animated comedy. Mike Tyson is taking the fight from the boxing ring to the streets... by solving mysteries. Armed with a magical tattoo on his face and a trusty associate by his side, if you have a problem that needs solving, Iron Mike is in your corner.
"The series will also incorporate live-action appearances from Tyson, where producers rave "the gloves come off as the former champ and his fowl-mouthed partner gear up for weekly adventures as they put unsolved mysteries - like how to defeat a super computer at chess or why a famous author/werewolf can't finish his novel - down for the count."
Tyson, 46, retired from boxing in 2005. He still holds the distinction of being the youngest undisputed heavyweight titleholder in history. In 2003, he filed for bankruptcy after squandering more than $300 million in career winnings.
He recently was ranked No. 16 on The Ring's list of 100 greatest punchers of all time and ESPN rated the "hardest hitter of all in heavyweight history."
