Pablo Sandoval Red Sox Rumors: Free Agent 3B Met With Team In Boston [VIDEO]

The Boston Red Sox are said to be "all in" on free agent third baseman Pablo Sandoval and they took another step toward landing him Monday when the "Kung Fu Panda" visited with team brass in Boston.

The Red Sox are hopeful to sign Sandoval away from the San Francisco Giants, with whom he's won three World Series titles while playing all seven years of his MLB career there.

Sandoval, 28, is said to be in the market for six-year deal worth in the neighborhood of $90-100 million after turning down a one-year $15.3 million qualifying offer from San Francisco.

Joe Amorosino, who is a sports director for the WHDH news station, tweeted out a photo of Sandoval in a Boston airport:

It was reported at last week's GM meetings in Phoenix that Boston was set to make a big push at luring Sandoval and Red Sox general manager Bill Cherington spoke of the importance of meeting with players.

"It's an opportunity for [players] to ask questions," Cherington said, according to ESPN. "These are choices, big decisions that free agents make. Obviously, a big piece of it is going to be the economics. But it's a life decision and they should get an opportunity to ask questions about whatever they want to ask questions about."

He added: "It doesn't make sense in every case, but at times, you offer that and ask for it, just to give them a chance to ask questions."

Sandoval hit .279 with 16 homers and 73 RBI in the regular season through 157 games and then continued to pad his solid October resume by hitting .366 this postseason with seven doubles and five RBI.

Sandoval hit .429 in the Giants' seven-game World Series win over the Kansas City Royals and hit three doubles while driving in four runs. Sandoval also squeezed the final out on a pop up to third base to secure San Francisco's World Series win in what could have been his final play as a member of the Giants.

Sandoval is a two-time MLB All-Star and took home the World Series MVP in 2012.

After popping champagne as a world champion for the third time in his career with the Giants last month, Sandoval could be getting ready to bolt for Boston.
