The SEC West has been a grinder of competition this season, with many of the top teams in the country inflicting wounds on each other as they claw for a College Football Playoff Spot. "It's just the SEC West," Alabama QB Blake Sims said. "There's a lot of great teams, and Mississippi State is a great team."

Sims has been dominant under center for the Tide, throwing for 2,243 yards and 17 touchdowns against just three interceptions. He has also been able to contribute on the ground, rushing for almost 300 yards with five scores. That production, however, pales in comparison to today's counterpart.

Dak Prescott, the Bulldogs' quarterback, is a strong contender for the Heisman Trophy and is the biggest reason for Mississippi State's perfect 9-0 record. Prescott has thrown for 2,231 yards and 18 scores, not dissimilar to Sims. He has also rushed for nearly 800 yards and added 11 touchdowns on the ground. Those 11 touchdowns match the number being put up by their top running back Josh Robinson.

Despite having a Heisman frontrunner and an unbeaten record, the Bulldogs feel as if they're being treated as big underdogs.

"Every article you read, everywhere you look, we're the big underdog in this game," Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen said. "We've done that before and we know that role. We'll be OK with that. Our guys will play with great effort and with a chip on our shoulder that we try to play with every week no matter what the rankings or what everyone else is predicting."
