Oakland Raiders Relocation: Chances of Move to San Antonio Now Considered 50-50? [VIDEO]

A lot can happen in four months in the NFL. Such as the city of San Antonio becoming a viable candidate to become the new home of the Oakland Raiders.

The San Antonio Express-News reported Thursday that Oakland Raiders officials will host a group of San Antonio governmental and civic leaders today in the Bay Area to discuss the franchise's possible move to the Texas city.

Oakland Raiders take visit to San Antonio about possible relocation?

The meeting comes for months after what was then described as a courtesy meeting between San Antonio officials and Raiders owner Mark Davis in San Antonio to discuss a possible relocation.

Former San Antonio Mayor Henry Cisneros, who set up the first meeting in San Antonio and is part of the traveling party to Oakland, calls San Antonio's chances at landing the Raiders a "very clear 50-50 proposition," according to the News-Express.

Rams, Raiders to relocate to Los Angeles in 2015?

The latest report is a far cry from the meeting Davis and his top two lieutenants to San Antonio on July 18.

MySanAntonio.com reported at the time that Cisneros, who was instrumental in building the Alamodome, initiated the invitation for Davis to visit San Antonio. Cisneros' son-in-law, Brad Badger, works for the Raiders.

As Sports World News reported, Cisneros told MySanAntonio.com that Davis was coming to San Antonio anyway, (the Raiders website reported that Davis was there to see longtime Raider Cliff Branch inducted into a local Hall of Fame), and that he just wanted to present the Raiders with options.

"So we spent the weekend and took advantage of the opportunity to show him San Antonio in the event if it ever became necessary to consider a site other than Oakland," Cisneros said in July. "We know they have lease issues with Alameda County, so it was a good opportunity to show him facilities in San Antonio as well as have him meet key leaders in San Antonio."

San Antonio turned out to be a pretty good option, at least as far as Cisneros is concerned.
