Injured WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan said that he hopes to return by WrestleMania 31 in March, but he isn't sure when and if he will be healthy enough for a return to the squared circle.

Randy Orton Possibly Being Left Off Survivor Series Card

On the heels of news breaking that Bryan will need to undergo a second surgery that will prolong his absence, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion appeared on Sports Illustrated Now via telephone and discussed several different topics.

Bryan underwent surgery in mid-May to repair a neck injury he accumulated from years of wear and tear placed on his body due to his in-ring style. He lost feeling in one of his arms following the initial procedure and he will now have to undergo a second operation to try and repair the issue.

WWE Monday Night RAW Spoilers And Preview

It is unknown when Bryan will be ready to return to the squared circle.

Bryan told the show that he isn't actually feeling pain in his arm, but he can't return due to the weakness in it because it would put himself and other wrestlers at risk in the ring.

Bryan added that they can't figure out how to get his strength back, but there is hope that the surgery will correct the problem.

Bryan also said he enjoys being able to watch his wife Brie Bella mix it up in the ring, but that the absence has been hard for him because he doesn't know what to do in his spare time.

When asked whether or not he can compete at WrestleMania 31 on March 29, 2015, Bryan said he'd be heartbroken if he couldn't perform at the event live from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

Bryan told the program that the hope now is that he will be ready for the event, but nothing is guaranteed and he'll be disappointed if he can't perform.

Bryan defeated Randy Orton and Batista at WrestleMania XXX in April to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, but he was forced to forfeit the gold after the initial neck surgery was needed.

The injured Superstar made an appearance on Sports Illustrated Now because his "YES" chant was a big part of the San Francisco Giants clubhouse as they went on to win the World Series against the Kansas City Royals in seven games.

Bryan was seen celebrating with the team at the parade on Friday and the latest edition of the Sports Illustrated magazine features the Giants on the cover celebrating with the headline, "Yes! Yes! Yes!." The cover will be shown this week on Monday Night RAW live from Buffalo.

Bryan said he was surprised at how much the chant has taken off while he credited UFC star Diego Sanchez for creating the chant in the first place.

It's unknown when Bryan will be back to action, but he is hopeful to be a big part of WrestleMania 31.
