May 5th will be a day filled with Super Classicos as Boca will play River, Peñarol will play Nacional and Colo Colo will play U. de Chile. This Sunday will be a derby-filled day, as three of the most important games in South American history will be played simultaneously.
Third place River Plate will travel to the Bombonera where they will face 18th place Boca Juniors.
Boca and River are two of the most successful teams in South American football; they command more than 70 percent of all Argentine football fans between them, with Boca claiming 40% and River 33%.
They have played 341 games against each other in all competition, Boca have won 126 of them with River winning 109.
Across the river in Uruguay, the oldest and most played derby in the world, Peñarol vs Nacional will be going on.
Combined, these two teams have won 90 of the 108 Uruguayan championships, a combined eight Copa Libertadores together, and have been playing against each other since 1900.
They have played 509 derbies; Nacional has won 166, and scored 611 goals, and Peñarol has won 180 by scoring 646 goals, 163 games have been draws.
Peñarol and Nacional currently sit in 4th and 6th place of the table, respectively.
Also in Chile, 4th place U. de Chile will play 9th place Colo Colo.
They have played a total of 218 games since 1935, with 95 games going to Colo Colo and 61 games going to U. De Chile, and 95 draws.
