Tennessee Titans Rumors: Jake Locker Expected to Return from Injury Week 8 [VIDEO]

The Tennessee Titans dropped another last minute game against the Washington Redskins on Sunday, but they will soon get their starting quarterback back in the lineup.

According to The Tennessean via Rotoworld, Titans’ quarterback Jake Locker will likely start for the team when they play their AFC South rival Houston Texans next week. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said at his postgame press conference that Locker was close to starting this past game and would be ready for Week 8.

RG3 Set to Return for Washington?

“Locker practiced early last week, but his thumb became sore and the Titans were worried about mistakes with ball handling. So they went with checkdown Charlie Whitehurst again, who predictably crippled the team in a narrow loss at Washington. Locker's return will be great news for Justin Hunter, whose vertical strengths need a big arm.”

Charlie Whitehurst has been starting for the Titans in Locker’s absence and rookie Zach Mettenberger sits behind him. The Titans sit at 2-5 through seven games and have invented ways to lose in some contests. Locker was 1-3 when he injured his throwing hand Week 5 and had thrown for 764 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions.

Whitehurst has preformed well considering the circumstances and has totaled 764 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions in three starts.
