USA head coach Jillian Ellis had this to offer ahead of today's CONCACAF qualifier (via the Salt Lake Tribune): "We're certainly focused [on qualifying]. I think we're all ready for that and ready to get out on the field, and we're genuinely excited to showcase what we can do. We've talked about it being a journey. We know our destination, and what I've tried to convince them now is it's the steps in between. It's the path that's the most important thing."
"We all want to be on the gold-medal stand at the end," she added. "For me, it's going to be about our preparation to hit that big stage at our peak performance."
