Carolina Panthers Rumors: Kelvin Benjamin Suffering from Post-Concussion Syndrome [VIDEO]

Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin missed practice Wednesday and has been diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Benjamin missed practice Wedesday and Thursday after complaining of headaches earlier this week after taking a huge hit from Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict.

“Benjamin is believed to have sustained the concussion, which the team described as "mild," in the second quarter of Sunday's tie with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Panthers said Benjamin, who reportedly indicated he had a headache on Monday, will go through the league's concussion protocol.”

Burfict was penalized for unnecessary roughness and Benjamin returned to the game after two plays. Panthers coach Ron Rivera said that Benjamin passed the in-game concussion tests and that is ‘the only reason’ he was allowed back in the game.

The rookie, out of Florida State, was the Panthers first pick in the 2014 NFL draft and he leads the team with 416 receiving yards this season. Benjamin’s status for the Panthers' game on the road against the Green Bay Packers is up in the air.

Benjamin currently sits as the No. 12 wide receiver in fantasy football for Week 7 according to Fantasy Pro’s consensus rankings.
