No. 20 Utah is fresh off an upset of then-ranked No. 8 UCLA and now they have to play their Pac-12 rival in the Oregon State Beavers on Thursday Night Football.
Utah coach Kyle Whittingham was asked about the teams’ ‘signature win’ and he says he doesn’t believe one upset win should give his team recognition. He says his team has been this good all season.
"When you rush for 242 yards against the talent that UCLA has in the front seven, you've done some good work," Whittingham said. "I've never understood what the word `signature win' is, but this is a big win for us on the road. It says what our capabilities are if we play a complete game and play smart and play a full 60 minutes.”
The Utes now face a Oregon State that is looking for their ‘signature win’ and it could come in the form of a Thursday night tilt with a newly ranked Utah team. This is the last game that Utah will play against an unranked opponent as they play No. 22 USC, No. 17 Arizona State, No. 9 Oregon, No. 23 Stanford and No. 16 Arizona in the next five weeks.
Oregon State leads the all-time series with Utah 11-6-1 and the Beavers have won three of the last five including two straight.
