Johnny Manziel Inappropriate Laughter or Witch Hunt? Mike Pettine Downplays Sideline Incident [VIDEO]

Johnny Manziel, of all people in the NFL, should know by now that a camera is always on him. But an incident like what transpired on Sunday helps his argument that the things he does get blown out of proportion.

A day after the Cleveland Browns completed the largest road comeback in NFL history, coach Mike Pettine found himself answering questions about his backup quarterback that didn't even play in the game.

During Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans, the Titans scored to take a 28-3 lead in the second quarter when a CBS cameraman starting recording Manziel, who was caught on the sidelines laughing, apparently with practice squad quarterback Connor Shaw.

After the game on Sunday, Pettine was asked about Manziel's Laughtergate behavior and said, "I don't know the context of what that is," according to Cleveland.com, which reported Manziel's "outrageous" behavior.

Pettine repeated his comments during his news conference Monday.

"I don't (have a comment) because, again, I don't know what the context of that is," Pettine said, according to NFL.com. "Down 28-3, the way we were playing I think probably you could term it laughable, but I don't know the context of it."

If reporters wanted to know whether Pettine was going to ask Manziel why he was laughing at that moment, that question never surfaced in reports. Pettine sounded as if no interrogation was forthcoming.

When asked whether Manziel should automatically assume that a camera is on him constantly and act accordingly when the Browns are losing, Pettine more or less brushed off the question.

"Yeah, that's a lesson to learn," the coach said, "but still I don't consider it a big deal."

Manziel has made his share of poor decisions, but Sunday's moment of levity was not one of them.
