Texas Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish's five pitch arsenal was immortalized by a Reddit.com user named "DShep" on Thursday. A GIF created by the Reddit user shows, as it's titled, "All of Darvish's primary pitches... at once."
DShep described the experiment as "showing a variety of pitch types in a unique way." The GIF features 5 pitches which were used in the Rangers 11-3 win against the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday; a 97 mph 4-seam fastball, a 96 mph 2-seam fastball, an 85 mph slider, a 78 mph slider and a 64 mph slow curve.
The GIF is currently trending on Yahoo! and has received notoriety from websites such as Deadspin as the "Coolest GIF ever." Darvish currently owns a 4-1 record with a 1.65 ERA and a league-best 49 strikeouts.
The Japanese phenom went 20-10 last season during his first year in the Major Leagues. In 2013, he nearly threw a perfect game in his season debut before allowing his only hit with two outs in the ninth inning.
