ROYALS vs ANGELS Watch American League Divisional Series Live Stream Online & Listen: Live Coverage from LOS ANGELES

Tonight at 9:07 p.m. ET the Los Angeles Angels, the best team in baseball over the regular season, will host the Kansas City Royals for Game 1 of the ALDS on TBS. Fans can live stream the action by clicking this link; Angels fans can hear the radio broadcast on 830 KLAA, while Royals fans may do likewise on KCSP 610. The Angels will send Jered Weaver to the mound to start the series against Jason Vargas.

Angels outfielder Mike Trout may be the best player in baseball, and a virtual lock to win the MVP award, but he's a rookie when it comes to October baseball. That's why he turned to another former MVP and World Series champion, Albert Pujols, for advice leading into his debut.

"He told me to just be myself, and not try to hit that home run when you don't need it," Trout said. "Just keep that same swing that got you here, and go from there. (But) it's definitely a bigger game, for sure. All eyes are on you."

There will be a lot of attention on Josh Hamilton as well, who is returning from shoulder and rib injuries. It's unclear if Hamilton will be able to play every day, or if he's physically up to the task of playing in the field. He's struggled at the plate too this season, hitting .263 with 10 home runs, 44 RBI, and only three stolen bases.

The Royals, meanwhile, are going to try and ride the momentum of their thrilling win over the Oakland A's in an extra-innings wildcard game. Unfortunately for the Royals, ace James Shields won't be available to pitch until Game 3. That means he can't pitch twice in the series, and that the Royals will have to steal a game on the road with either Vargas or rookie Yordano Ventura.
