Pittsburgh Steelers Rumors: Retired James Harrison Expected to Sign With Steelers [VIDEO]

Five-time Pro Bowler James Harrison is expected to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers just three weeks after retiring from the NFL.

The Steelers have been devastated by injuries at the linebacker position and ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter was told by a source that the Steelers are expected to host and sign Harrison on Tuesday.

After the Steelers topped the Carolina Panthers on Sunday Night Football, Harrison tweeted out that he would give it another go in the NFL with a video of him asking his kids if they would be okay with him playing for the Steelers. The Steelers lost second-year linebacker Jarvis Jones and rookie Ryan Shazier to injuries in the blowout win.

Jones is out at least eight weeks due to dislocated wrist and was placed on the injured reserve/designated to return list Monday. Shazier has a sprained knee and is expected to miss at least a couple of weeks.

The 36-year-old Harrison spent 10 of his 11 NFL seasons with the Steelers before playing for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2013. Harrison has 66.0 career sacks in the NFL and had a career high 16.0 sacks for the Steelers in 2008. The Steelers have won two Super Bowls and appeared in another during Harrison's tenure with the team.

The Steelers play host to the 0-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
