The No. 22 Ohio State Buckeyes look to get back to work against Kent State after a stunning upset last week.
Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer was not a happy man after Ohio State was upset at home by Virginia Tech and he said that he needs to get the message to his players. Meyer stressed that shutdown defense will solve all the problems the team has going forward.
"I want to get to the point at Ohio State where it's shutdown, lockdown defense," Meyer said. "We can make that happen as we continue to grow this year. There is still some new blood out there playing (but) there were far too many mental mistakes.”
Kent State is looking to get their first win of the season after dropping their first two games to Ohio and South Alabama. This game is the Super Bowl to the Golden Flash as they don’t play another ranked team this season. They finish the season with four straight games on ESPNU.
The Buckeyes lead the all-time series with Kent State 2-0 with the latest game coming in the form of a 48-3 beating in 2007.
