Tony Stewart Verdict: His Fate Over Kevin Ward Investigation in Hands of Another Video? [VIDEO]

It was a graphic video that created widespread speculation about Tony Stewart's thought process when his car struck and killed fellow driver Kevin Ward Jr. during a dirt-track race in upstate New York.

Now, another video - and enhancement done by the New York State Police Laboratory - will help determine whether Stewart will face subsequent charges in Ward's death.

Remaining races of NASCAR season could determine whether Tony Stewart continues racing after this year

CNN reported Thursday that the Ontario County Office of Sheriff said in a news release that it has concluded its investigation of the Aug. 9 tragedy at Canandaigua Motorsports Park and has turned the evidence it uncovered over to the district attorney's office.

According to CNN, the release also said District Attorney R. Michael Tantillo is expected to announce late next week what the next steps in the case will be.

Tony Stewart inconsolable? No driver knows the emotions Stewart is feeling

Stewart and Ward collided during a race on Aug. 9, sending Ward's car into the outer railing and knocking him out of the race. Ward got out of his car and walked on the track, waiting for Stewart to pass.

As Stewart came around, Ward gestured at him before being hit by Stewart's right rear tire. According to a coroner's report, the 20-year-old Ward died of massive blunt trauma before paramedics could get him to the hospital.

The Los Angeles Times attempted to get elaboration of the video enhancement from the Ontario County's Office of Sheriff and the district attorney's office but neither office would comment.

Mike Arning, a spokesman for Stewart and the Stewart-Haas Racing Team, reconfirmed Stewart's original stance of refusing comment on the incident to let the investigation run its course, telling the Times in an email, "we will respect the entire investigative process through its completion."
