Real Madrid Net Worth $3.3 Billion, Tops Forbes 2013 List, Beats Manchester United For Most Valued Soccer Club

Real Madrid has replaced Manchester United as the most valuable soccer brand in the world, according to a list published by Forbes Magazine on Wednesday. The La Liga club gains the No. 1 spot with a value of $3.3 billion, overtaking Man U for the first time since 2004.

Last September, Forbes named the Dallas Cowboys the most valuable NFL team at $2.1 billion. In January, the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers became the first NBA teams to be worth $1 billion.

Manchester United takes over the No. 2 spot with a value of $3.1 billion. FC Bacelona is third at $2.6 billion, Arsenal ranks fourth at $1.3 billion and Bayern Munich rounds out the top five at $1.3 billion.

In January, business advisory firm Deloitte said that Real Madrid was the first club in any sport to surpass $650 million in revenues in a single year. The Wall Street Journal reported this week that Emirates Airlines will look to extend its jersey sponsorship with Madrid at a price of $39 million a year.
