Boston Marathon Bombing Arrest: Suspect Involved In Bombing Arrested

An arrest was made Wednesday in the Boston Marathon bombings investigation, a federal law enforcement source told CNN's Fran Townsend. An anonymous law enforcement official told The Associated Press earlier that an arrest of the suspect was imminent.

The official says the suspect is to be taken into custody by federal marshals and taken to a courthouse. Multiple reports previously indicated that authorities had identified one person they believe to be a suspect in the bombings.

The suspect was identified through video surveillance of the areas surrounding the bombings, according to reports. CNN reported that video from a department store overlooking the site of the second bombing provided the breakthrough.

Boston police have announced a public briefing Wednesday at 5 p.m. A person close to the investigation previously told AP the bombs consisted of explosives put in 1.6-gallon pressure cookers, one with shards of metal and ball bearings, the other with nails.
