Real Madrid News: Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez 'Will Do Well' At Real Madrid Says Sir Alex Ferguson

For some, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez traded a bench role at Manchester United for one at Real Madrid. Don't expect his former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, to associate himself with that loud majority. The former United boss firmly believes Hernandez will show well at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"Hernandez will do well in Madrid," Ferguson said (via the Daily Star). "He will score many goals, I'm sure of that."

"His dream has always been to play for Real," he added. "I'm pleased because Javier has gone to one of the most important clubs in the world. Before he was at United and now his arrival at Real Madrid is phenomenal. I think that he will see a lot more action with his new club. There is no striker like him. Not anybody can score as many goals in the Premier League from so few minutes as he did. He always does his job."

Former club legend Hugo Sanchez doubled down on Ferguson's comments, telling Record (via Goal): "I'm convinced Chicharito will triumph at Real Madrid, as will Raul Jimenez at Atletico and [Javier] Aquino at Rayo Vallecano. If leaving Manchester United is difficult, he has done it to come to Madrid and that, of course, is commendable."

"Congratulations to Chicharito, hopefully he'll be lucky."

Playing time will be required for Hernandez to "be lucky." With Karim Benzema solidifying his position as Madrid's first-choice striker, said playing time will be few and far between.

The Mexican international must first prove his worth in early Copa del Rey matches before being considered for first-team minutes in La Liga or Champions League.
