"The Best in the World" is flexing his legal muscle as CM Punk has reportedly had his lawyers send a letter to the WWE about the use of his likeness.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks, had his lawyers recently send a 22-page letter to the WWE over royalties for their use of his likeness. The letter stems mainly from Punk being featured in the WWE 2K15 video game.

It is possible that the WWE stopped sending Punk royalty checks over the claim that he breached his contract when he walked out on the company back in January. The roster for WWE 2K15 was put together before Punk departed the company, but for whatever reason he isn't getting any money from it.

WWE SmackDown Spoilers For Friday

Punk left the WWE back in January on the night after the Royal Rumble prior to an episode of Monday Night RAW due to being frustrated with the way he was booked in the company and the rigorous traveling schedule.

Punk said in a recent interview that he was "never ever" returning to the squared circle which means the odds of him returning to the WWE are slim at best. His former manager Paul Heyman also said that he didn't think Punk would ever set foot in the WWE again.

"The Best in the World" has kept busy since his departure, appearing at Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks games in his hometown and doing various television appearances. Punk was seen at the AP Music Awards and also appeared at Comic Con in San Diego on behalf of Nerdist where he said he was having the most fun that he's had in a long time.

Punk also married WWE Diva AJ Lee, who took an over two-month hiatus from the company from April 7-June 30 to move in with him and the two tied the knot on June 13.

Punk was recently irate over the wedding photos of the two being part of the alleged iCloud hacking that saw many celebrity photos leak online.

If there was any hope that Punk would return to the WWE, this letter certainly will anger the WWE even further after he walked out and the two sides may not ever patch things up.
