The Women’s side of the draw at the U.S. Open is loaded with talent top to bottom, but the player to beat is still Serena Williams.
Williams doesn't have a major title on her resume for 2014 and has struggled at times on the big stage. Williams is looking to win her 18th career Grand Slam title and is gaining ground on Margaret Court's all-time record of 24.
Williams spoke about getting the 18th title first and taking it one tournament at a time.
"It's always motivated me. But at the end of the day I have to first get to 18. That's been avoiding me, actually. ...
I definitely want to be able to win majors and then just pick and choose really carefully around the tournaments."
